Here I go

Although I enjoy lurking around the blogs of others, I've been resistant to the idea of starting my own. I'm not sure why--something to do with wasting too much time on it, thinking it would be no good because I hate taking pictures of stuff I'm doing, worried I'd reveal too much about myself? But several days ago in the shower, my mind became so absorbed with thoughts of theoretical blog posts that I didn't remember if I had washed my hair when I got out. So I'm going to give this a shot. I can't promise I'll post frequently or include much that's worth reading, but here it goes.

I have a fabulous, almost 3-year-old son named My Boy (sorry--I think I want to keep this public, and I feel a bit shifty about using his real name). My Boy is a talker, and his chattiness has recently evolved into a Question Parade. A Question Parade for me, mostly. Like this:

My Boy (in the car): why are you driving?
Me: because we're going home
My Boy: why are we going home?
Me: because you need to take a rest
My Boy: why do I need to take a rest?

And so on. Sometimes I find this amusing and cute, and other times I want to hit my head hard on a sturdy, nearby object. Often when I ask him to stop doing something (playing with his silverware at a meal, being loud while I'm on the phone, asking to watch more TV, etc.), his question will be, "Why you said that?" in a raised voice with a scowl on his face. And now you know the story of the name of my blog.
