I'm an old lady

He's 5!
We had a small party the next day at a park. The boys decorated paper airplanes, went on a treasure hunt for favor bags (that included poppers, whoopee cushions, water ball yo-yos, shark squirters and candy), and ate pizza and cupcakes.
But the "throw water balloons at the birthday boy's dad" activity was the biggest hit (thanks for being a great sport, darling!). This is just a small sample of what he endured:
Waiting to say the pledge of alliegance with the rest of the school to officially start things off (yeah, I'm glad they do that too! You don't always know what to expect with SF). I thought the Iron Man t-shirt would be a nice ice-breaker for him:
Waiting for class to start. There are lots of different races and backgrounds represented in his class--so sweet.
I got a little teary watching him on the rug, but parents stayed at the school for orientation then joined the kids for lunch, so it wasn't as dramatic as the first day might have been. He's done really well this week, and I think it will be a great year.
