House of Bagels (Geary and 15th Ave in SF): best Reuben sandwich I've ever had. I got mine with roasted turkey and NOT on the traditional icky rye bread (who wants to eat bread with minty fragments in it?). Incredible! They have lots of other New York deli-type stuff that looked great too plus bagels as the name implies.
El Metate (Bryant & 22nd St in SF): best quesadilla I've ever had. The ingredients seem pretty basic, so how do they do it? The place is clean, the service friendly, and in my experience, street parking isn't too bad. Props to Shannon for introducing me to it.
Bisquik: maybe you think I'm trashy--and you would be correct--but I say it's pretty hard to beat Bisquik pancakes and waffles. My pancake and waffle making has increased dramatically since having a child, and I re-discovered the mix after foolishy buying other brands or making them from scratch. I came dangerously close to buying a Bisquik cookbook at Costco the other day because of my love for it but didn't. Anyone have a great recipe to share?
Smores: Sweets have tasted pretty great to me during the 2nd half of this pregnancy. Baby especially seems to like smores (or maybe it's just me). But here's my version--this is actually what I sat down in front of the TV with the other night:
