Pineapple Upside Down

My sister said she'd heard if you turn a pineapple upside down for a day or two before cutting that the sugars run throughout and it will taste great. After having done this with 6+ pineapples, I can say it works; the fruit has been extra delicious, so I don't think it's a fluke.
