I need to leave soon

You're killing me, San Francisco! First you force people to recycle and compost, then you pass a law banning toys from Happy Meals, and now we may vote on whether to ban circumcision? Ugh.

The Daily Show did a great piece on the Happy Meal thing:

The toy ban bothers me in principle but doesn't affect me much. Who wants to deal with the no-drive-thru-or-parking, sketchy-people-working-and/or-eating-there McDonald's in the City? (there are a couple of exceptions, but most are yuck).

Still, I'll bet the franchise owners in Daly City and Mill Valley will be clapping their hands when this law takes effect December 1st.

And of course it has nothing to do with the parents who purchase the happy meals for the kids...It's all about the toy.

Oh my gosh! Are you kidding me? Are people in San Francisco unable to make their own decisions? Come on! That is craziness.

LOL!!!! I have to say I went to McDonalds all of 3 times while living in SF. That councilman is completely absurd. I can't believe that A) he really feels that way and B) he got enough support from his fellow councilmembers to pass such a bill. I hadn't heard about the circumcision decision. Really, how can they take that option away from parents? Unbelievable.

OMG. hilarious and awesome. i'm with hillary. never went to mcdonald's in SF for obvious reasons. still don't, actually, but do go to chik fila often. the circumcison thing is absurd though, seriously!?! next they will try to make epidurals and inductions illegal. i'll never forget the brainwashing they tried to do in my birthing classes about the evils of those things, and the dirty looks i got each time i got induced (when i didn't want to) when my doctor said it was in the best interest of mom and baby since i was so late and they were so big.
